This is a great vanilla bundt cake recipe that can be used as a base for many other recipes. It’s simple, not complicated, and has a few steps only. Though it’s quite basic, it tastes amazing and may be had just on its own with a cup of tea or just as a snack.
It is buttery, moist, crumbly, and oh so delicious. Here I made a bundt cake but you can turn it into a sheet cake or even a layer cake.
Vanilla Bundt cake
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Butter
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 3 Cups Flour
- 4 Eggs
- 4 Tsp Baking powder
- Vanilla paste
- 1 Cup Yoghurt
Instructions
- In a bowl cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy
- Add eggs one at a time
- In another bowl mix flour with baking powder
- Add dry ingredients to the butter mixture
- Add yoghurt, mix. Do not overmix
- Pour in a prepared bundt baking tin
- Bake for about 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean
- When the cake is done, leave it in the cake tin for about 10 minutes
- Turn it to a cooling rack
- When cool, you may add a drizzle a glaze or dust with icing sugar
- Serve and enjoy
Notes
- Instead of yoghurt, you may use buttermilk or sour milk
- Do not over mix the batter
- You may use a loaf tin, a cake tin, or a sheet pan
- The cake may also be used as a layer cake
