Kiflice are basically small semi sweet rolls (crescent rolls) You find these in every bakery around here, and you find a bakery in every corner or every street. Theres even places where they sell only kiflice. You may stuff them with sweet fillings such as hazelnut spread or jam, or savoury such as cheese.
There are so many recipes for kiflice because they are basically rolls of some sort. This recipe here is of plain kiflice sprinkled with sesame seeds. You may add fillings to it because its just the basic recipe. Its not sweet or salty, and its perfect just to have without anything.
Im not sure why these rolls are popular here in the Balkans, but they remind me of rolls my mother used to buy hot from the supermarket, and she’dd bring them home still warm after work. People would stand on a queue waiting for them to get out of the oven. They were so good, just a few minutes they’d be gone.
